The Quadreria of the Doge’s Palace was inaugurated

The Quadreria of the Doge’s Palace was inaugurated on 25 March 2023, after a restoration carried out by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia with the collaboration and support of the Venice International Foundation.

The current layout, which includes the Sala della Quarantia Criminale, the Sala dei Cuoi and the Sala del Magistrato alle Leggi, follows a tradition dating back to the early seventeenth century, when the Doge’s Palace was intended to display ‘easel’ works from illustrious private collections alongside ‘institutional’ paintings.
