Born in Terni on November 13, 1947, he lived between Garda and Verona with his parents until he graduated from the Liceo Classico Scipione Maffei in Verona. He then earned a degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Bologna. During his university years, he served as a Reserve Officer in the Savoia Cavalleria, first in Caserta and then in Merano, and was discharged years later with the rank of Lieutenant.
After graduation, he began his professional career in London at Lazard Brothers, later moving to New York with Bache & Co. in 1976. After a period in New York and then in Rome, he moved to Bache & Co.’s office in Monte Carlo, where he served as a broker and later as a private banker (with Prudential Bache, Fortis Banque, and BNP Paribas) until his resignation in 2011.
Since then, he has managed his family office, with interests in real estate, financial investments, and agricultural property management. He is a shareholder and board member of Art Defender (www.Artdefender.it), a company specializing in the preservation of valuable assets.
Since 2013, he has co-managed projects in the art world, including the financing and creation of Heinz Mack’s work “The Sky Over Nine Columns,” exhibited in Venice, Istanbul at the Sabançi Museum, Valencia at the Calatrava space, and finally on Lake St. Moritz. He also curated the exhibition “Crowd and Individual” by Magdalena Abakanowicz at the Island of San Giorgio, in collaboration with the Beck & Eggeling Gallery and the Cini Foundation.
He considers himself an art lover and is an International Patron of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Palazzo Strozzi, and a supporter of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco and the Contemporary Art Museum of the Castle of Rivoli.
He is a member of the Circolo della Caccia, Clubino, Sci Club 18, Yacht Club de Monaco, Automobile Club de Monaco, and the Circolo La Macchia in Maremma. He has been awarded the titles of Chevalier de l’Ordre de Saint Charles, Cavaliere d’Italia, and Grand’Ufficiale of the Order of San Maurizio and Lazzaro.
